Deckboard hardwood Bangkirai 245 cm (25x145mm)Calculation model for decking boards
To calculate how many shelves you will need based on the M2, divide the total M2 by the working width of the shelf. For example; 20: 0,146 = 137 meters of decking boards. Divide this by the length of the plank. This way you know exactly how many decking boards are needed. Now that you have determined the required material, you can start building your deck. Below step by step:
Step 1 Placing the posts Install the hardwood posts using the auger and pile hammer. Make sure that they go into the ground at least 100 cm and that they remain 20 cm above the ground, because of this. good ventilation of your terrace. The first part is done with the auger and the last part is done with the pile hammer. The posts are recommended at least 100cm into the ground because it cannot rise during frost. The picket posts are placed every 40 to 50 cm.
Step 2 Placing the root cloth After placing the posts, place the root cloth over it. Using a box cutter, make holes for the posts to pass through. If you need several root cloths, it is advisable to overlap them when you lay them.
Step 3 Attaching the sleepers You can now attach the sleepers or joists to the posts. You place these along the picket posts. You do this using m8 carriage bolts that are 120mm long. Ensures the outer sleepers are on the outside of the posts. The sleepers should be on the side of the wooden beams. This ensures the strongest connection.
Step 4 Placing the shelves You can now attach the planks to the sleepers. If the decking is adjacent to an outside wall, make sure that there is at least 2 centimeters between the wall and the first plank so that the wood has enough room to work. Screw the planks to the sleepers every 40cm. Use special stainless steel decking screws for this. Screw the carriage bolts along the posts and not on the posts. The picket posts should always be placed slightly below the height of the beams.
Step 5 Make your deck attractive! Of course, a deck is only really finished if it has trendy furniture completely in your own style! Maybe you already have some furniture or you can shop new furniture. Then the terrace is really finished and you can relax or dine with friends and family.
