Due to its special strong properties and low hygroscopicity, this type of wood is very suitable all year round for the production of, among other things, fences and furniture for garden architecture. The preparation of the material for the production of fences starts with harvesting as a manual labor. This is a natural fence and the dimensions can sometimes differ. The wood is not dried, of course, thanks to the presence in the wood structure of natural acids and tannins, impregnation is not necessary. How long does a chestnut fence last? Chestnut wood has a durability of about 25 years, hazel about 15 years. Acacia wood or Robinia has a hardness comparable to oak or teak. Acacia wood is the most sustainable European wood. and also has a lifespan of about 25 years. Chestnut wood, acacia and hazel are untreated and do not require chemical treatment for longer durability, in addition it is a very good alternative to impregnated wood. Recommended by environmental organizations and the Ministry of the Environment. Test method NEN-EN-350-2. indicates an expected service life. Due to all kinds of different circumstances, this can deviate upwards or downwards.
